SDT Ultrasonic Equipment

In addition to offering surveys (tightness control) using the SDT equipment, we are also selling this equipment to industry, shipyards and shipowners.

The benefit from this equipment is to have easy quality control of your vessel/equipment, and enabling you to prevent damages to equipment and cargo.  It is portable/hand held and easy to use to detect potential leaks in water/ wheatertight doors and hatches.

The equipment is type approved by DnV and most classification companies, and replaces in most cases the waterspray test.  We can also train and certify operators acc. to DnV requirements.

Shipyards

Quality control of installation of hatches/portholes/windows/doors, and quick checking during adjustments. On newbuilding this improve productivity, and reduces claims afterwards. Also it simplifies delivery inspection, as faults are eliminated.

It is also very easy to have routine checks on air/welding gas lines/hoses at the workplace, as the receiver will detect small leaks without having to move equipment/submerge in water etc. The potential saving on energy/gas cost alone might pay back the investment in short time.

Shipowners

Some leading shipowners has this equipment onboard vessels, or rotating between their vessels, in order to routine check hatchcovers.  It can be essential before loading sensitive cargo and can also be costsaving as repairs can be done early, and also vessel can avoid delays/cancellation at loading berth.

Industry/ Terminals

Many industry sites and cargo terminals use this type of equipment as a routine pre-loading survey of ships, especially with sensitive cargo like fertilizers, metals, minerals etc. The test is quick, simple to perform and very accurate.  Also the use in preventive maintenance is important, and equipment for temperature and vibration measurement can be provided.
